Hello and welcome. I go by the name of Borderman but people who know me just call me Chris. I have two websites hosted by Miraheze, my other project being The Lonsdale Battalion, which has been around for a while and is forever a work-in-progress.
So, you have reached my user page. Whether you stumbled across it or happened upon here with purpose, I am the creator and administrator of this site and I am here to help out if anyone runs into issues. This area is where I tend to add stuff to help me work on different aspects of the site, mainly because I forget things that might be useful. So it is here where I come back to, making notes and adding links to other pages and templates.
My sub-pages here on Commons
- User:Borderman/Uploads – Inserts a hidden category onto my uploaded image pages
- User:Borderman/License notification – Draft notification for adding to image pages that do no have appropriate licensing
Templates I use regularly
- Template:Center or Template:c - For centring text.
- Template:Details - Used in Template:TabberNeue-form (see below).
- Template:Larger - For making text about 120%.
- Template:X-larger - For making text even larger.
- Template:Osm - For creating a clickable latitude and longitude link to Open Street Map.
- Template:Reflist - Used to populate references in articles.
- Template:Right - For right-aligning text.
- Template:TabberNeue-form - Used on the File: pages for inputting summary, photo details, map and licence.
- Template:W1 - For linking to Wikipedia articles.
- Template:W2 - For linking to Wikipedia articles when I want the text to appear differently to the article title.
Links to websites I use
- Ordnance Survey explore maps - Used for National Grid reference numbers.
- UK Grid Reference Finder - Very handy for getting latitude / longitude / what3words / OS National Grid references.
- Lake District National Park website.
- Online Etymology Dictionary - Great for researching the history of words.
