File on The English Lakes

Original file(4,032 × 2,268 pixels, file size: 8.27 MB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Crummock Water from the southern end of the lake looking west towards the Fells of Mellbreak (512m) on the right and the slope of Red Pike (755m) on the left. The slate/shingle beach offers fine views of the whole southern half of the lake, and the area is used by many walkers and cyclists. Swimming is permitted but the water is cold even on a warm, sunny day.
