Slater's Bridge, also known as Slaters Bridge and Slater Bridge is a 17th century packhorse bridge used extensively throughout its 400+ year history, predominantly as a major thoroughfare across the River Brathay providing easier access to and from the Tilberthwaite Fells where major Victorian slate mining took place. Its use today is leisure-related for hikers and ramblers exploring the Little Langdale valley. It is an incredibly picturesque place and the bridge itself has been the subject of many amateur and professional photographers.
