This template is intended to provide general information about a file to be uploaded to the file namespace. It's primary function is to serve the viewer with the basic details of the file in a easy to read collapsible table, using the {{navplatephoto}} template. If the file is a photographic image, and the decimal coordinates have been included, a map with a precise location will also be included.
Usage
Copy and paste the following syntax into the page and fill out all mandatory parameters (all sections without "optional"). Any empty parameter will be rendered as missing on preview. Filling in as much information here will provide greater detail for the viewer on the file page. Check all details are correct and save. Don't forget to add appropriate categories at the bottom of the file page. Without these, the uploaded file will have reduced visibility throughout the site.

Notes about the parameters
Description | This must be added. You can make this as long as you like but it must describe the image accurately. |
Author | This should be the creator/owner of the file being uploaded. If you have taken a photo, you are the author. |
Source | Normally stated as "own work". |
Camera | The make of the camera, for example, Sony RX10 IV or iPhone 15 Pro – Generally the make and model of any photographic equipment. |
Latitude and Longitude | These are required to populate the map and must be in decimal degrees. Without these coordinates the map will not work. |
Service | Either leaflet or google. Currently only leaflet works. |
Static | Whether the map should remain static, or if it can be moved with the mouse. |
Zoom | This is the zoom level of the map, 1 being the furthest out and 20 being the closest in. As a general rule 16 works quite well. |
Fullscreen | This provides a clickable icon to allow the map to be enlarged to full screen, located at the top left of the map. |
Scrollwheel | Allows the mouse wheel or pad to zoom in and out of the map when hovering over it. |
Width and Height | Can be used to change the size of the map in px or em. |
Clicktarget | Used to link through to an external site via a URL. |
DMS latitude and DMS longitude | An optional coordinate for Degrees, Minutes and Seconds. |
OS-grid | The Ordnance Survey National Grid numbers. We use the 1km x 1km square references, i.e., NY 2623. |
w3w | The unique what3words address. The w3w address for NY2623 is redeemed.valuables.commutes Add the w3w with just the words and full stop in between and nothing else; it will be rendered as a hyperlink automatically. |
Elevation | Used to provide an approximate elevation at which a photo was taken – taken from the file's metadata. |
View direction | Used to provide an approximate direction of view of a photo to within +/- 15 degrees – taken from the file's metadata. |
